I’m looking to purchase a PDA with compatible flight computer software. Is anyone using these electronic logbooks? which software is the best? I’ve seen some that include logbooks, plus live weather charts (gps enabled phones) etc.
Logbook pro. I’ve had a lot of professional pilots i know use that, however, they ALWAYS write in their backup. Basically, they use it as a reminder, so when they get home, they can actually input it into their real logbook. I know logbook pro has a demo version on their website if you want to check it out. That’s for th computer, but they might have a PDA demo as well. check it out by googleing it.
Logbook Pro by NC Software is pretty much the choice for most professional pilots. Logbook Pro’s PDA Companion is what you would need and costs $29.95. However, if you want to “upgrade” it from the Standard to Pro version, that is an additional $39.99 or $89.99 if you want the Enterprise version.
Airline Pilots Daily Logbook (now owned by the folks at Logbook Pro) is another option at $59.95. Both programs can be had at
If you are on a budget, try the “Little Red Book ” by v1rotate.com. It is free to try and only $19.99 to buy.
